Manchester City will do everything they can to sign Josko Gvardiol this summer, according to reports.
Football Insider claim that the RB Leipzig defender could cost City in excess of £80million - a fee said to be affordable for the 2022/23 Champions League winners. Pep Guardiola's side head into the summer on the back of a treble-winning campaign and Gvardiol would boost their defensive options even further - in addition to John Stones, Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji and co.
The report explains that City have already held initial talks with the 21-year-old centre-back, who is under contract until 2027 and played 41 matches - in all competitions - last season. The Croatia international has made over 130 senior appearances in his career and talks with City 'are set to accelerate' after their win in Istanbul.

Elsewhere, Riyad Mahrez is reportedly set to receive a contract offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Alhi. It's claimed that the Algerian, who has been at City since 2018 and played 47 games last season, will have a three-year deal put on the table. The Saudi club won the second division last season and will be back in the top flight for the 2023/24 campaign.
Al-Alhi's interest in Mahrez comes from French news outlet Foot Mercato (via Evening Standard), after Mahrez was an unused substitute in Saturday night's Champions League final - which City won 1-0 against Inter. Mahrez has two years left to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium and produced decent numbers last season, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists.
