Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the City Is Ours daily digest, your daily dose of Manchester City news you might have missed.
In Germany, City might have found an easy solution to their striker pursuit. Meanwhile, one of Pep Guardiola's left-backs looks set to leave while another could be about to sign a new deal.
Lewandowski reunion?
It's no secret that City are on the hunt to sign an elite striker from a Bundesliga club this summer. The question is, could the target be someone other than Erling Haaland?
BildSport are reporting that Bayern Munich want a definitive resolution to Robert Lewandowski's future within the coming months. The record-breaking Polish striker has less than 18 months left on his current contract, so if he doesn't sign a new deal before the summer then Bayern will reportedly look to move him on.
Guardiola is certainly a big Lewandowski fan, with the striker leading his Bayern team in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons. Since Pep left Bavaria he has become even more prolific - last season he broke the record for the most goals scored in a single Bundesliga season (41).
Our take: There's no doubt that Lewandowski is an elite striker and that Guardiola would love to work with him again, but at 33 years old the Poland international is well above the usual age range of City signings.
City may look past this and use him as a short-term solution - and someone for Liam Delap to learn from - but we suspect that they would still rather bring in Haaland or another younger striker.
Left-back to leave
According to Mundo Deportivo journalist Nil Sola , City are set to offload young left-back Oscar Tarensi to Spanish second division side Girona before the end of the month.
The Spanish full-back joined City from Espanyol's youth set-up in 2019, and has since split his time between playing for the under-18s and the EDS squad.
However, now at the age of 19, it appears that Tarensi has little chance of progressing into Guardiola's first team. Joshua Wilson-Esbrand is the EDS left-back that Pep has opted to call up to his squad on occasion, meaning that he is happy for City to sell Tarensi to fellow City Football Group member Girona.
Our take: Selling a young player always leaves a slightly bitter taste, but letting Tarensi go seems the right course of action.
The Spaniard is nowhere near the first team so for the good of his career he would be better off seeking regular minutes elsewhere.
New deal for Zinchenko
Given the fan-favourite status he has developed in recent seasons, reports linking Oleksandr Zinchenko with a move away from the Etihad Stadium were a little concerning.
However, according to Ukrainian football outlet vZbirna (relayed by Zorya Londonsk ) the 25-year-old left-back could soon sign a new deal at City.
If he does so, it will negate the need for City to pursue a left-back in the summer, as Zinchenko provides solid cover for Joao Cancelo.
Our take: Keeping Zinchenko sounds like smart business from City, especially given the fact that he can be trusted to perform in Guardiola's complex and demanding system.
He is a well-liked member of the dressing room, while on the pitch his versatility allows him to provide cover in a number of positions. The only thing that might dissuade him from putting pen to paper is the lack of minutes he has seen this season, although injuries have played their part.
