Man City 'still pushing hard' to sign Jude Bellingham and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly still 'pushing hard' to sign Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham in the summer transfer window, with several other Premier League sides also interested in the player.

City are among a host of English clubs looking to recruit the 19-year-old at the end of the season, with Bellingham having impressed for both club and country. But City will no doubt face competition for his signature and The Athletic claims that Spanish giants Real Madrid consider Bellingham to be a 'priority signing'.

It adds that Madrid have been working on a deal to sign the former Birmingham City man 'for months', but that they are likely to face competition from both City and Liverpool. The 19-year-old is under contract with Dortmund until 2025, and there have also been suggestions that he could extend his stay in Germany.

Bellingham has registered 20 goals and 23 assists in 115 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit since joining the club in 2020. He has also impressed for England, and has featured on 22 occasions for the Three Lions. The midfielder played five times at the recent World Cup in Qatar.

Elsewhere, Football Insider have reported that City 'fear' Rodri could push for a summer move to Barcelona. The report claims that the Catalan outfit have identified the defensive midfielder as a potential successor to Sergio Busquets, who is out of contract at the end of the campaign.

It adds that City believe Rodri is open to returning to his homeland at some point in his career, however, the Spaniard appears happy in Manchester and is under contract until June 2027.

Rodri has made 31 appearances in all competitions so far this term, with 29 of those coming as a starter. He has won two Premier League titles and two League Cup trophies since joining the club from Atletico Madrid in 2019.
