Gabriel Jesus has been phenomenal for Arsenal in the pre-season ahead of the 2022/2023 Premier League campaign. Despite only signing in the summer transfer window, the Brazilian has needed little time to settle as he has already been firing on all cylinders.
His excellent performances continued on Saturday afternoon in the Gunners’ final pre-season match against Sevilla in the Emirates Cup. Jesus scored a hattrick as Mikel Arteta’s side ran rampant in a 6-0 win against La Liga opponents.
Arsenal’s new number nine has now scored seven goals in five pre-season games. His performance against Sevilla was so good that his former Manchester City teammate Ederson Moraes paid homage to his display.

Speaking about Jesus after Manchester City's 1-0 loss to Liverpool in the Community Shield on Saturday evening, Ederson said via TNT Sports: "I love him and his family. We were always very close. I hope he (Jesus) has a lot of success in the new season because he deserves it.
He is a boy who works hard and is a phenomenal player." Ederson said.
"Congratulations to him for these three goals today, and I hope he has a lot of success."
Jesus played his first game at the Emirates Stadium in an Arsenal shirt in the Gunners' Emirates Cup success against Sevilla on Saturday. He grabbed two early goals in the first half before completing his hattrick late into the second half, confirming Arsenal's victory.
The Brazilian will be hoping to take his impressive pre-season form into the Premier League campaign, which is next up for Arsenal. Arteta's side travel to South London to play against Crystal Palace on August 5 and will be hoping to do better than last season's 3-0 defeat at the same ground, which proved to be a major hit in the Gunners' pursuit of Champions League football.
