Man City star Ilkay Gundogan set to make transfer decision amid Arsenal and Barcelona links

Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan is set to make a decision on his future amid talk of a potential transfer to Barcelona or Arsenal.

Gundogan is into the final three weeks of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, meaning he would be available on a free transfer if he doesn't agree a new deal with the Citizens before then. Both the Gunners and La Liga champions Barcelona are said to be keen to sign the German international this summer whilst Pep Guardiola's side have made it no secret of their desire to keep the veteran midfielder in Manchester.

Now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on the situation, claiming that the 32-year-old has received a three-year contract from the Blaugrana, as well as a one-year offer with an additional 12-month option from City whilst Arsenal and a number of Saudi clubs also remain interested.

Writing on Twitter, Romano said: "Ilkay Gündogan will make a decision on his future soon #MCFC Manchester City offer one year extension plus one more season as option. Barcelona offer three year deal.

"Saudi clubs, trying to temp him since January. Arsenal are also interested and informed."
