City boss Guardiola gave a positive team news update prior to the encounter. Kevin De Bruyne Jack Grealish, Manuel Akanji and Ruben Dias had missed City's Premier League defeat by Brentford last Sunday and there had been doubts over them.
But Guardiola confirmed the quartet have all trained this week and it gives the City boss a fully fit squad to choose from on Saturday afternoon. The City boss has already confirmed that Stefan Ortega will start as goalkeeper ahead of Ederson.
In defence, Dias could well come back into the heart of this and, should City line up with a back four, then John Stones, Nathan Ake and Aymeric Laporte are candidates to line up alongside him. Guardiola could turn to Stones owing to the Yorkshireman's form.
In central midfield, Rodri should anchor the midfield and De Bruyne should also come back into the engine room. Captain Ilkay Gundogan will surely start the encounter too.
Upfront Erling Haaland will lead the line to see if can add to his remarkable goalscoring total this season. On the right, Riyad Mahrez could be given the nod on the right flank, while Grealish could come back into the team on his natural left flank.
City predicted starting XI to face United: Ortega; Walker, Dias, Stones, Akanji; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, Haaland, Grealish.
