Khaldoon Al Mubarak says that Manchester City will speak with Pep Guardiola about a new contract when the manager wants to.
Guardiola is approaching the final 12 months of his contract at the Etihad, and having won four of the last Premier League titles there is nobody in the club hierarchy who is looking for him to move on. While the manager has said he will not betray the club when he makes a decision, he has also suggested that he could run down his contract before announcing his next move.
City, however, remain relaxed about the situation given their dealings with a man who has already stayed longer at their club than he did in Barcelona and Bayern Munich - at least in part because of the relationships that he enjoys with his bosses and the freedom that he is given to go about his work.
