Manchester City have told Paul Pogba that his wages must fit into their existing structure if he is to make the sensational switch to the Etihad.
The Frenchman’s Manchester United contract expires at the end of the season and it has become abundantly clear that he will not extend his current arrangement. That means he will be available to leave Old Trafford on a free, with United’s near neighbours emerging as shock potential suitors.
The Telegraph report that the Premier League champions have held initial talks with Pogba and although there are reservations, there is said to be some appetite to complete a deal. However, according to reports, City are adamant that his salary and signing-on fee must fit into the existing structure already in place at the club.
