Sheffield United attacker Rhian Brewster forecasts Manchester City loanee James McAtee to bag “a lot of assists” this season despite his slow start.
He also praised Blues colleague Tommy Doyle for securing a regular spot in the side as both players attempt to develop their senior careers. The pair featured for England Under-21s in their 3-1 win over Germany on Tuesday alongside City academy products Cole Palmer, Luke Mbete and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who is on loan at Burnley.
Doyle has edged his way into being a first-team regular for his loan club this season after successful spells at Hamburg and Cardiff last season. A steady presence in the centre of the park, the 20-year-old has impressed fans at Bramall Lane.

However, it’s been a different story for McAtee. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has only enjoyed cameo substitute appearances after a dismal outing against Luton last month in his most recent Championship start.
He’s played just 21 minutes of football across the whole of September. However, Brewster recognises McAtee’s abilities.
The ex-Liverpool striker outlined his style of play while hailing Doyle’s contributions, detailing how both are finding their feet in Sheffield. “They are settling in really well and getting involved in the banter,” he told Yorkshire Live.
"It's been very good and I think it is starting to show on the pitch for you guys to see but I see it every day in training and in the changing room. I am expecting a lot from them, especially from Tommy.
“I have known him for longer and he has a lot to give, in terms of goals, assists and going forward. You are going to see a lot more of that.
"Tommy has come in and done well and is continuing to do well. He has taken his chance and hopefully he can just keep that going and keep working hard, hopefully adding some goals and assists to his game."
Regarding McAtee, Brewster added: "It's the same with Macca. What he brings is a lot of flair and I think he is going to get a lot of assists this season and hopefully some goals, too.
"Macca is more of an attacking threat and is mainly a 10 or an 8, whereas Tommy can play anywhere in midfield. Tommy brings a range of passing, shooting and tackling, and I think Macca brings the flair, the slide passing and dribbles."
