Man City legend Sergio Aguero surrounded by singing Brazil fans on flight to Qatar for World Cup

Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero was surrounded by several singing Brazilian supporters on his flight to Qatar ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

Aguero, who made 101 appearances for Argentina, shared a funny video of his journey on social media, with the 34-year-old on a plane with Brazil fans who partied around the former striker. He looked sheepish sat in his seat and pulled a number of hilarious faces, while also scratching his head.

The sound of drums could be heard in the background of the video and any possibility of sleep appeared impossible. It is unclear where the former City man was travelling from, but reports confirmed he was on a flight to Qatar.

Brazil are among the favourites to lift the World Cup trophy next month, with Argentina also tipped by many to have a great chance of winning the tournament. There is a possibility that, depending on the outcome of the group stages, the two sides could meet in the semi-finals.

Earlier this year, Aguero revealed that he was invited to be part of the coaching staff for the Argentina team, but instead opted to travel to Qatar as a fan.

"The invitation to be part of Argentina staff was on the table. I spoke with Chiqui [Claudio Tapia, Argentina Football Association president] and I was clear with him about my goal to enjoy my time. I'm going to Qatar, but as a fan," he told ESPN.

"I have a great relationship with everyone from the national team but I don't see myself in the coaching staff and with the players on a day-to-day basis. They are asking for a role that isn't for me right now.

"I had a talk with [Lionel Messi]. He and Lionel Scaloni (Argentina's manager) gave me an idea of what they wanted from me.

"I asked them for some time to think about it and then told Chiqui that I wasn't ready for that. I will be available for any event related to Argentina national team, as an image or an ambassador but I don't want a day-to-day responsibility with the team."

Aguero, who retired last year due to a heart condition, made 390 appearances for the Blues during his career, registering 260 goals and 73 assists. He also ended his career as City's record goalscorer, while also winning five Premier League titles, an FA Cup and six League Cups.
