Man City 'join race' for Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala and more transfer rumours

Manchester City have joined the race to sign Bayern Munich wonderkid Jamal Musiala from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, according to reports.

As per Italian media outlet CalcioMercato, Pep Guardiola is interested in adding the 19-year-old midfielder to the club's ranks next year, with the City boss keen to bolster his midfield alongside the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan.

However, an imminent departure from the German champions appears to be unlikely after the club's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic previously claimed that the player was "not for sale".

The German international has made 90 appearances for Bayern so far in his career, with the youngster registering 22 goals and 13 assists for the Bundesliga outfit.

Elsewhere, journalist Fernando Sanz has hit back at Guardiola's dismissal of the rumours regarding a reported clause in Erling Haaland's contract with City.

Sanz claimed earlier in the week that the Norwegian frontman's deal contains a release clause and that it has 'favourable conditions' for Real Madrid. Despite having only signed for the reigning Premier League champions in the summer transfer window, Haaland's father, Alf-Inge, suggested that the striker might only stay at City for three or four seasons.

"It’s up to Guardiola to say what he has said. The clause exists and the amount I can’t say yet," Mundo Deportivo report Sanz saying on El Chiringuito.

"I remember that when he was at Dortmund people said there was no clause and Manchester City benefited from that and were able to sign him. Everyone says what is convenient. I’m not saying that they have exclusive priority. I say that, in this case, there is a clause with favourable conditions to go to Madrid."
