Manchester City fans believe this could be their year as they look to end their long wait for a Champions League title.
The Blues already look to have secured their place in the quarter-finals after demolishing Sporting Lisbon in the first leg of their last-16 encounter.
A Bernardo Silva double plus goals from Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling saw City thrash their Portuguese counterparts 5-0, all but confirming their spot in the next round ahead of the second leg at the Etihad Stadium in three weeks’ time.
It was a performance that further underlined their credentials as favourites to lift a first European crown.
Pep Guardiola’s side are looking to go one step further after suffering defeat in last year’s final against Chelsea and, on current form, it’s hard to see who can beat them.
Premier League title rivals Liverpool and Guardiola’s former side Bayern Munich are seen as their biggest threats, but it’s City who are fancied to go all the way.
And even their supporters, who might ordinarily be wary of making such predictions given previous seasons, are daring to dream.
In a poll run by the Manchester Evening News , we asked you how far you thought City would get in this season’s Champions League, and there was one overwhelming response from those who voted.
A whopping 75.1 per cent said City will go all the way and win the whole competition this season.
While others were perhaps a little more conservative in their predictions, they still fancy the Blues to make it far, with 13.6 per cent backing them to finish as runners-up for the second year running.
Seven per cent of voters think they’ll make it as far as the semi-finals, while 2.8 per cent think the quarter-finals will prove to be their limit this season.
Surprisingly, 1.4 per cent said they would only make it as far as the last-16 - Sporting would have to come up with the performance of a lifetime in order for that prediction to come true.
