Man City face unchartered territory in Liverpool rivalry but history is on Pep Guardiola's side

Following Manchester City's goalless draw with Crystal Palace on Monday and Liverpool's win at Arsenal on Wednesday, it looks like the Premier League title race is going to go right down to the wire. That is what many people expected at the start of the season and that feeling has resurfaced after City's lead at the top was cut to a single point.

Still, there is no need to panic at the sight of Liverpool eating up the ground just yet. If past title races have taught us anything, it is that anything can happen. On a City Is Ours Facebook live stream, Alex Brotherton and Amos Murphy discussed how things could pan out. Either way, it's likely to be a pretty stressful few months.

AB: "In 2011/12 and 2013/14, the power in the title race swung both ways multiple times. In 2011/12 City were ahead, collapsed, then Manchester United were and they collapsed and City won the title on the final day. In 2013/14, when they beat City at Anfield, they went seven points clear [although City had two games in hand] but then dropped points to Chelsea and Crystal Palace and as the song goes, City won five in a row and Edin Dzeko scored his goals and they won the league.
