Manchester United legend Alex Stepney believes that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will not be able to replicate the success Sir Alex Ferguson achieved at Old Trafford.
During his time with United, Ferguson won 13 Premier Leagues, two Champions Leagues, five FA Cups, four League Cups and a Club World Cup. Guardiola's success with City so far has also been fruitful and led to comparisons with the former United manager.
So far, the Catalan coach has managed a trophy haul which includes four Premier Leagues, an FA Cup and four League Cups. While this is still a good achievement, it remains some way off the amount that Ferguson accomplished.

According to Stepney, City and Guardiola's individual pursuits of the Champions League could halt the latter's attempts to emulate Ferguson. Speaking to SportingPedia, the 80-year-old explained: "No one's ever going to beat Sir Alex Ferguson's record.
"There is one thing about Guardiola. When did he last win the Champions League? 10 years ago.
"The thing is, Manchester City, that’s the only thing they want. And Guardiola, if you think about it, he’s never won it since he left Barcelona."
Stepney's uncertainty surrounding Guardiola comes on the eve of the Manchester derby this weekend. The Blues are hoping to bounce back at Old Trafford on Saturday following their shock defeat to Southampton in the Carabao Cup.
Goals from Sekou Mara and Moussa Djenepo ended Guardiola's chances of surpassing Ferguson's four League Cup triumphs for another season. As for United, they are the in-form team in the Premier League having failed to drop points since domestic football returned.
