Man charged with rape after woman in her 20s ambushed and dragged into garden in Edgware

A man has been charged with rape after a woman was dragged into a garden and attacked in north London.

The victim, aged in her 20s, was walking along Manor Park Gardens, Edgware, when she was ambushed at just before 10.30pm on June 27.

Kyle Kinsella, 26, of Arlington Drive, Warrington, was charged with rape and intentional strangulation.

He is appearing at Willesden Magistrates’ Court to face the charges on Monday.

A police statement said: “At 22:25hrs on Thursday, 27 June, a member of the public reported that a woman had been found partially clothed in Manor Park Gardens, Edgware.

“The victim, aged in her 20s, was walking along the road when a man jumped out and dragged her into the garden before attacking her.

“Following a fast-paced investigation, officers arrested a man in Warrington on Saturday, 29 June. He was taken into custody at a London police station.

On Monday, 1 July, Kyle Kinsella, 26, of Arlington Drive, Warrington was charged with rape and intentional strangulation.”

The victim continues to be supported by specialist officers.
