A second man has been charged over the alleged gangland shooting of a father and son in Western Sydney last year.
Homicide detectives arrested 20-year-old Suliman Hamza in Grafton yesterday and have charged him over the murder of Salim Hamze, 18, and Toufik Hamze, 64.
The pair were shot as they sat in a ute on Osgood Street in Guildford shortly before 9am in October, 2021.
They were found slumped inside the vehicle, each having suffered several gunshot wounds.
Salim died at the scene while Toufik was treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital where he later died.
Mr Hamza man has been charged with two counts of murder in relation to the shooting, and knowingly or recklessly directing the activities of a criminal group.
Detectives will allege he planned and directed the use of getaway cars used immediately before and after the shooting.
They will also allege the double murder was planned as part of a joint criminal enterprise.
It is the second arrest police have made in connection with the deaths of the father and son.
A 25-year-old man was charged over his alleged role in the incident earlier this year and remains before the courts.
There has been a series of shootings and murders across Sydney in recent years that police allege are linked to the Hamze family and its long-running feud with rival family the Alameddines.
Homicide detectives believe the feud initially began over the theft of drugs but has since escalated into a series of tit-for-tat shootings.
The homicide and organised-crime squads have established several strike forces to dismantle Sydney's crime networks, under the umbrella of Taskforce Erebus.
More than 250 people have been arrested on more than 800 charges since a major crackdown began after the consistent killings late last year.
