A 26-year-old Zillmere man has been charged with murder and arson in relation to the deaths of a Collingwood Park couple in January.

Christine and Joe Stephan, 68 and 73, were found dead after a fire at their Ipswich home, south-west of Brisbane on January 23.

Police appealed for information into the murder, releasing CCTV footage of a man on Friday.

Detective Acting Superintendent Stephen Blanchfield urged anyone who may have dashcam footage from Zillmere Road, Aspley and Robinson Road West, Geebung between 10:00am and 1:00pm on January 22 to come forward.

"Specifically, we remain interested in the movements of a black Mercedes Benz between those times which belonged to the victims and was allegedly stolen from the crime scene at Collingwood Park," Detective Acting Superintendent Blanchfield said.

"While the vehicle has been located, any information regarding its movements is of great importance to us while investigations are ongoing."

The man did not appear when his case was mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

He has been charged with two counts of murder, one count of arson and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The matter was adjourned until March 14.
