A man has been charged with murder after a body was found at a jail in NSW.
Police were called to the correctional facility at Parklea in Sydney's northwest at 9.30am on Sunday after an inmate was found unresponsive in a cell.
The man was treated by corrective services officers until paramedics arrived, but was declared dead at the scene.
Lucas Batey has been charged with murder over the death.
The 20-year-old did not apply for bail before Parramatta Local Court on Monday.
Batey went into custody on Thursday after allegedly breaching his bail conditions on charges of common assault, resisting police and assaulting police.
Those matters return to court in April, while the murder charge returns to court in May.
