A man has been charged with murder following the death of a pensioner in Plumstead.
Officers were called to Red Lion Place at 8.50am on Wednesday, April 1, amid reports of a man in possession of a knife.
Police attended the scene and found 84-year-old Doris Innes, from Plumstead, with serious injuries. She was taken to hospital where she later died.
Her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, the Metropolitan Police said.
Police said an investigation was launched following the incident and that officers identified “two further victims who were threatened with a knife close to the scene”. Neither received any injuries.
Police said a man was arrested in connection with the investigation a short time later, at around 9.10am on Wednesday.
Giorgio Pin, 62, has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
Pin, From Woolwich, was remanded into custody and was due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
