Man charged with murder after woman found stabbed to death in Earl's Court

Old Brompton Road, Earl’s Court - (Matt Writtle)

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found stabbed to death at an address in west London, the Metropolitan Police has said.

Officers were called to concerns for the welfare of a woman at an address on Old Brompton Road, Earl’s Court, at around 11.15am on Wednesday.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the body of a 39-year-old woman, who has been named by police as Xiaoqing Ke. She was a Chinese national.

Her family, who live in China, have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A post-mortem confirmed that she died as a result of stab wounds.

Deepak Sandhu, 23, of Newlands Avenue, Southampton, has been charged with murder.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 15.

A second man, aged 47, was arrested in relation to the investigation and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with Xiaoqing’s family at this incredibly difficult time. While a man has now been charged, our investigation continues, and we urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to us to come forward.”

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting CAD 2689/10DEC25, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.ea
