A man has been charged with the kidnap and murder of a man in his 50s in Leicester.
Daryoush Kholghnik, 33, has been charged after 53-year-old Tala Tala was found dead in a house in Harrow Road on the afternoon of Friday 24 March.
Kholghnik, of Vaughan Way, Leicester, has also been charged with two counts of blackmail against two others, and will appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, Leicestershire Police said.
A 37-year-old man from Leicester remains in police custody after also being arrested on Monday on suspicion of Mr Tala’s murder.
Two other men, aged 45 and 21, previously arrested on suspicion of murder have since been bailed and released under investigation.
Mr Tala’s family are being supported by specialist officers while the full circumstances of his death are investigated.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Mark Sinski, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said: “Anything, no matter how small you think it is, may be helpful to this investigation. Please, we urge you to get in touch.
“We understand this incident and the police presence will cause some concern in the community. Please speak to our officers at the scene and please be reassured that we remain fully committed to this investigation and to fully establishing what has happened.”
He added: “We have a dedicated team carrying out full enquiries as we continue to establish the full circumstances of this incident. This includes officers carrying out house-to-house enquiries at the scene as well as checking CCTV and carrying out forensic enquiries.”
