A 35-year-old man is set to appear in court charged with the murder of a man in Beckton.

A murder investigation was launched after 39-year-old Wayne Potter was found unresponsive at a home in Newark Knok on Saturday afternoon. He was confirmed dead at 5pm.

Ross Pallet was arrested on Monday and will appear before Thames Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Two other people have been arrested as part of the investigation: A 25-year-old man on Saturday, on suspicion of murder, and a 31-year-old woman, on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are continuing their investigation.
