A man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Adelaide's west, while a man has been stabbed in a separate incident in the Adelaide Hills.

Police and ambulance crews attended a warehouse in Brandwood Street in Royal Park just before 7:30pm yesterday following reports a man had been shot.

The victim, a 47-year-old man from the same suburb, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Senior Constable Kimberley Broad said a man was arrested in connection with the shooting just before midnight.

"We had Western District police along with STAR Group officers attend a Croydon Park home and [a man] was arrested without incident," she said.

"A 44-year-old man from Croydon Park was charged with attempt murder, failing to answer questions under the Firearms Act and carrying an offensive weapon."

He was refused bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Police are also investigating an alleged stabbing at Mount Barker overnight.

Emergency services responded to reports a man was stabbed in Laver Street at about 1am.

Police say a 40-year-old Two Wells man was found with a stab wound to the groin and taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he is now in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

Police arrested a 47-year-old Mount Barker man this morning and charged him with aggravated assault causing serious harm.

He was bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court next month.
