A 40-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of Michael Tormey earlier this month.
The father-of-two was shot dead at around 4.35am on January 9 outside his house on the Thomond road in Ballyfermot, west Dublin.
He sustained three gunshots to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai have been following a number of lines of inquiry as part of their investigation into the 49-year-old's death.
A man and a woman were arrested last week in connection with the probe.
On Tuesday, gardai confirmed that a man had been charged in relation to the fatal shooting of Mr Tormey.
He is due to appear in court on Wednesday morning at 10.30am.
Officers said that a 39-year-old woman has been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting of a man in his 40s that occurred at a residence on Thomond Road, Ballyfermot on Sunday, 9th January, 2022 have charged one man.
"The man (40 years) has been charged in relation to the incident and is due to appear before Criminal Courts of Justice on Wednesday morning, 19th January, 2022 at 10.30a.m.
"The woman (39 years) was released without charge this evening and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
"Investigations ongoing."
