A man has been charged in connection with a fatal assault that took place on Harrington Street.
Gardai rushed to the area on Wednesday morning, where a man, aged in his 20s, was found with serious injuries. He was brought to St James Hospital but was later pronounced dead by medics.
A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested by Gardai following the incident. He has since been charged in connection with the assault and was brought before the Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon at approximately 4:30pm.

Gardai previously appealed for anyone with information on the assault to get in touch. A post mortem was carried out on the deceased man's body on Wednesday.
