Man burgles neighbour’s house; held

BENGALURU: A 34-year-old unemployed man has been arrested for allegedly burgling his neighbour’s residence at Beedi Colony in Kengeri on the night of January 28.

Police recovered gold rings weighing around 5 grams, 80 grams of silver articles, six wristwatches, one LED TV, one home theatre and two silk saris — all worth Rs 1.2 lakh — from Nafeez Ahmed. Yousuf’s wife Roshan Zameera had filed a burglary complaint on January 29.

Police learnt Ahmed had claimed to his neighbours that he had purchased used LED TV and home theatre. Police detained him and he confessed to the crime.

Yousuf and his family members were away from the city to attend an inaugural function of a hotel of their relative. On January 29, another neighbour noticed the main door of Yousuf’s residence was broken open and alerted the family. tnn
