RAJKOT: A man has been booked in Gujarat's Jamnagar for spreading hate against RSS and terming it a terrorist organization on social media. A bank employee, volunteer of RSS lodged complaint with city A division police station following the post he came across on Facebook.
According to the complaint registered by Yashank Trivedi, the accused Afzal Lakhani, a resident of Sikka in the outskirt of Jamnagar was operating the social media account with the fake identity of Jiggar Thakkar. Trivedi is an employee of a private bank and also president of Hindu sena Jamnagar and a volunteer of RSS.
In his complaint Trivedi has stated that while surfing the internet he came across the indecent post about PM Narendra Modi and his mother. He went deep in the profile of the person out of curiosity and found several pages. The complaint alleged that several posts on the social media page were provocative in the nature.
Trivedi stated that as he started seeing past posts on the social media page of Lakhani, he found one comment of September 29, 2022 stating in Hindi that "The only terrorist organization in the country is RSS and funding of this organization should be banned."
He alleged that this kind of posts are defamatory in nature. Trivedi also alleged that he also came across a post of May last year which was against the Brahmin community. Trivedi also came across several post maligning the image of RSS and PM Modi.
Trivedi stated that by reading all the posts he was shocked and felt insulted. All the posts are spreading hatred which may create animosity in the society, it’s an attempt to weaken social fabrication and it may result in breach of peace in society, he said.
The police booked Afzal Lakhani under IPC sections 153 (A), 295 (A), 298, 499, 500, 501 and 505 (2).
