Man banned from Lidl after suggesting store had a rat problem

A dad has been banned from Lidl for complaining about a box of eggs he said had been "chewed by a rat".

Matt Garside, 59, complained to staff after he found the box that he thought had been gnawed by rats. He was taken aback when bosses at the cut-price supermarket then barred him from the store for six months.

Matt said: “This made me angry. It was so simple, and they have just shot the messenger. But I just stuck to my guns, and in the end, I’ve been banned. I don’t know why they have dealt with this in this way. It’s just beyond me."
