A man at the centre of an extradition row has been charged after an alleged incident at a Glasgow hospital. Nicholas Rossi, 34, was arrested in connection with a disturbance at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on Tuesday night.
He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court today. Rossi is currently facing extradition to the United States.
Last week he failed to appear at his extradition hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court after his wife claimed he had Covid. An ambulance took him away from his Glasgow home hours before the case called.
Fiscal depute Julie Clark said the Crown would make a motion for a warrant for his arrest if he failed to appear at court on Thursday July 7. An independent medical review on Rossi's health was previously ordered by a sheriff and this is expected to be ready for the next court hearing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson: “A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with disturbance which occurred at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow on Tuesday, 5 July. 2022.
“He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 6 July, 2022.”
