A man had to have hospital treatment after he was assaulted with a weapon in Johnstone.
The 25-year-old was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment to a laceration to his face following an incident in Thorn Brae on Saturday night.
Officers were on patrol in the street around 7.50pm when they encountered an altercation on the street.

Police intervened and assisted the injured man, while two other people fled the scene.
Following enquiries, Police Scotland confirmed two people has been arrested in connection with assault charges.
A spokesman added: "A 25-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley on Saturday, March 19 following a disturbance in Thorn Brae, Johnstone.
"Officers attended and we can confirm two males have been arrested in connection with assault charges.
"A report was sent to the procurator fiscal and they will appear at Paisley Sheriff Court in due course."
