A man has been arrested after the body of a woman was found in a Dublin apartment.
The woman, who was in her 40s, was discovered unresponsive at the Royal Canal Park apartments in Ashtown around 10 am this morning. She was pronounced dead a short while later.
A man, in his 50s, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and he is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. The woman's body has been removed to the City Morgue at Whitehall and a post-mortem examination will be conducted by State Pathologist Dr Linda Mulligan on Saturday 14th January 2023.

The scene is currently preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing to any person who has information that can assist with this investigation to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01 6667500, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
