
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died in Fulham in the early hours of this morning.
Metropolitan Police officers were called to a property on Tyrawley Road, SW6 at around 1.10am on Thursday by the London Ambulance Service.
A woman in her 40s was found with head injuries and, despite the efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man, 45, believed to have been known to the woman, was arrested at the property and remains in police custody.
Police have launched a murder investigation and advised the community to expect a heightened police presence in the area.
The woman’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, leading the investigation, said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has sadly died.
“We have launched a murder investigation and my detectives will be working round-the-clock to establish the circumstances of this tragic incident.
“I would ask that anyone who has information that might be relevant to our enquiries contacts the police.”
