A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Elliot Francique in Plaistow.

Mr Francique, 20, was found stabbed to death inside his bedroom at a property on Hudson Close at 3.21pm on April 19.

Despite the efforts of medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene just after 4.30pm.

The suspect, also aged 20, was arrested on Wednesday and taken into custody where he remains.

Mr Francique’s next of kin are aware and continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen, who is leading the murder investigation, said: “Our investigation is making good progress and we have carried out door to door enquiries and examined hours of CCTV footage.

“I am grateful to those people who have already come forward to speak with us and urge anyone with information who hasn’t yet been in touch to call us without delay.

“Even the smallest piece of information could corroborate something we have already been told, or might be the missing part of the timeline of events that we are building.

“It is our mission to remove dangerous weapons, and the dangerous people who use them, from London’s streets. Please help us make your city safer by telling us what you know.”

Anyone who has information or footage should call the incident room on 0208 3451 570 or the non-emergency number 101, quoting 4484/19APR.
