A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the death of Dublin pensioner Christy Hall last November.
The 65-year-old’s body was discovered in his home in Dun Saithne Green, Balbriggan, on November 24, 2021.
Gardai say he suffered “significant head and upper body injuries”, with a probe under way since to catch the father-of-two's killer.

Officers confirmed on Monday that a man has been arrested in connection with Mr Hall's death.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s today, Monday 16th May 2022, in relation to the discovery of a body in Balbriggan on 24th November 2022. He is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Balbriggan Garda station."
Mr Hall, originally from Co Meath, was medically “vulnerable” after suffering a brain injury following a fall in 2020.
Dominic Keegan who lived opposite Mr Hall, told the Irish Mirror last November: “He was a nice fella, it’s just unbelievable to think that someone could do this to him.”
The Irish Mirror revealed at the time that investigators were reviewing clips from the vicinity of Mr Hall’s home, which shows a man walking towards it.
A major line of inquiry for officers is that he was targeted to steal money from him, but they have been exploring other theories too.
They were also working to establish whether Mr Hall let someone known to him into his home or if the killer forced their way in once he opened the door.
A source said: “Gardai have gathered footage which could well be key in solving this investigation.
“They do believe that his killer knew him because he had to gain access to the house and there was no sign of forced entry.”
