A man has been arrested after police executed a drugs warrant at a home in Bury where a cannabis farm was found in clear view of neighbours.
Officers were called to Balmoral Avenue in Whitefield on Wednesday morning (April 27) following reports that the address was being used as a cannabis farm. In a picture shared by GMP Bury, a collection of plants could be visibly seen from the front window of the property.
Lighting and electrical equipment, often used to maintain cannabis plants, could also be seen through the window. Officers confirmed a man was arrested following the swoop.

Approximately 250 plants were also seized by officers. In a statement, GMP Bury said: In accordance with the Chief Constables Plan on a Page, Bury South Neighbourhood Team along with other colleagues from Bury, this morning, have carried out a successful warrant at Balmoral Ave, Whitefield.
“1 Albanian male has been arrested and approx. 250 plants have been seized.”
The Plan on a Page is GMP's Force Delivery Plan (FDP) intended to highlight 'points of focus' for officers to undertake. The plan ensures officers respond to incidents, investigate and solve crime and reduce crime, harm and anti-social behaviour.
Earlier this month, police also seized a ‘large quantity’ of drugs from a converted loft in Bolton. The drugs were found waiting to be packaged up and sold on, while an electricity meter had also been bypassed to provide power for the farm.
Separately, this week, a man was found not guilty of allegedly importing 155 kilos of cannabis into the UK, which were found hidden under fragrant tumble dryer sheets. Drugs arriving from Canada to Heathrow were intended to go to an address in Failsworth before Border Force officers became suspicious.
