Man arrested after police recover '£385,000 worth of cannabis' from car

A MAN has been arrested after police recovered a large amount of cannabis from a car at Loch Ryan Sea Port in Cairnryan.

Around 10.50pm on Monday, officers seized the cannabis, with an estimated street value of £385,000, from the vehicle.

A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with the recovery.

He is due to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Tuesday and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A police spokesperson said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and tackling those involved in the cultivation and supply of drugs is a priority for Police Scotland.

“The public has an important role to play, and we encourage anyone who has any information or concerns about drugs to contact Police Scotland via 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
