Man arrested after pedestrian hit by car in Golders Green

Golders Green
  • A 41-year-old Iranian national is in a critical condition after being hit by a car on Golders Green Road in London's north west on Wednesday evening.
  • Emergency services responded after 8.20pm to reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
  • A 39-year-old Iraqi national was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, serious injury by dangerous driving, and failing to provide a drug sample, and remains in custody.
  • The Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident is not being treated as terrorism and is under investigation by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
  • Police have advised the public against sharing widely circulated social media footage of the incident due to its graphic nature and to protect the integrity of the investigation.
