Man arrested after cops execute warrant in Wigan town

A man was arrested after Class A drugs, cash and a fake gun was found during the raid of a house in Atherton.

Officers from GMP's Atherton Neighbourhood Team and District Tasking Team executed a warrant in the Hag Fold area of Atherton yesterday (April 4).

A 28-year-old man was arrested then released under investigation.

A post from GMP Leigh, Atherton and Hindley read: "Yesterday, Monday 4th April 2022, officers from the Atherton Neighbourhood Team and our District Tasking Team executed a warrant in the Hag Fold area of Atherton following intelligence regarding the supply of Class A drugs.

"A search was conducted, and significant quantities of suspected Class A drugs, cash and an imitation firearm were recovered from the property.

"A 28 year old male was arrested, and has since been released under investigation pending forensic and other enquiries."
