A man from Scotland who allegedly drained his father’s bank account has been jailed after he managed to blow the whole lot over the course of three years. Stephan Dewar, 31, stole the equivalent of $67,000 and reportedly spent the money on sausage rolls, gambling, and adult entertainment.
According to an article from Metro, Dewar, who was branded as “despicable,” admitted to impersonation in order to access a bank account belonging to his father. He then withdrew £50,000 (roughly $67,000) between 2019 and 2022. According to the outlet, the 31-year-old had initially approached his dad to ask for a loan of £5,000 (roughly $6,700) in order to purchase a pub.
