Man, 60, left with head injuries after violent attack by unknown men near Wetherspoons

A 60-year-old man was left with a serious laceration and bruising to his head after reportedly being attacked by to unknown men in the early hours of May 8.

The victim, who was walking on Bridge Street in Congleton, close to the Wetherspoons, was assaulted by two men at around 1am.

He was taken to hospital after sustaining the head injuries. Police launched an investigation and have now released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to.

Cheshire Police believe the two pictured men may be able to assist with enquiries and are urging anyone who knows them to come forward.

Detective Constable Chloe Taylor from Eastern CID, said: “This investigation has been ongoing and we are currently following a number of lines of enquiry.

“As part of our investigation, we are keen to speak to the men in the CCTV images as we believe he may be able to help with our enquiries. If you think you recognise the men or have information regarding their identity please come forward. I would also like to appeal directly to the two men in the CCTV images to get in touch."
