A 48-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted in Kilmarnock.
The victim was left injured after the attack just before 2pm yesterday at the junction of Knockinlaw Road and Western Road.
The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment for serious but not life-threatening injuries, police have confirmed.
Cops say that enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a 48-year-old man having been seriously assaulted on Knockinlaw Road at its junction with Western Road in Kilmarnock shortly before 2pm on Friday, October 7, 2022.
“The 48-year-old man has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
