A MAN has been arrested following a “series of incidents” around Edinburgh in which four people were injured.
It comes after police closed off Leith Walk on Friday, with posts on social media appearing to show a man with a knife on the street.
The police cordon was put in place shortly before 10pm on Friday.
A large number of police vehicles were seen in the area.
A statement from Police Scotland said: “A 36-year-old man has been arrested following a series of incidents at a number of locations across the west of Edinburgh, and Leith, during the evening of Friday, June 19.
“Four people were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing, however, we believe there to be no further risk to the public at this time.
“Members of the public are thanked for their assistance.”
Lothian Buses said earlier: “Due to a road closure, buses are unable to serve Leith Walk and Duke Street and are instead diverted via London Road and Easter Road in both directions until further notice.”
