Man, 35, dies after Dundee horror crash between bus and car as police launch appeal

A man has died after a horror crash between a bus and a car in Dundee.

Emergency services rushed to Riverside Drive around 4.30pm on Thursday following a collision between a red Alfa Romeo and a bus.

A 35-year-old man, who was the driver of the car, was rushed to Ninewells Hospital but could not be saved and was pronounced dead a short time later.

No one else sustained serious injuries in the collision, reports Daily Record.

Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing and police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch.

Sergeant Gordon Dickson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died. Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the crash to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area and who may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.

“We are particularly keen to trace any drivers who may have seen the red Alfa Romeo travelling from the Tay Road Bridge before the collision.”

Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2441 of Thursday, 27 April, 2023.
