The 32 year old, wearing green tracksuit bottoms and a grey jumper, Cotton spoke only to confirm his name and address at Liverpool & Knowsley Magistrates Court this morning.

No details of the case were outlined in court this morning and Cotton gave no indication of what his plea will be.

His case was sent to straight to Liverpool Crown Court, where it will be heard next month.

Cotton, of Scarisbrick Road, was remanded in custody by District Judge James Clarke.
