A man in his 30s was hospitalised last night suffering from an alleged stab wound after an assault in Dundalk.
The incident occurred at Legion Avenue at around 8:00 pm on Saturday night and.
Gardai confirmed that the victim’s injuries are not life-threatening.
He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda while a second man, in his 20s, was arrested and taken to Dundalk Garda Station.

He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and investigations are ongoing.
A spokesperson from An Garda Siochana confirmed to the Irish Mirror: “Gardaí are investigating an alleged incident of assault that occurred in Dundalk, Co. Louth yesterday evening, Saturday 18th June 2022.
“A male (30s) was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda with non-life-threatening injuries.
“A second male (20s) was arrested and taken to Dundalk Garda Station where he is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
