A man was found dead on his bedroom floor by a friend, after spending the night taking drugs and drinking alcohol, an inquest has heard.
Police coroners officer Andrew Pickles told Bolton Coroner’s Court that David McKenna, 30, was discovered unresponsive at his flat in Saville Street, Bolton, on April 16.
During a brief inquest opening hearing, Mr Pickles said that Mr McKenna’s friend had gone to check his bedroom after hearing a ‘thud’.
“Mr McKenna was found unresponsive on his bedroom floor by a friend, after he heard a thud,” Mr Pickles told the court. “Both had spent the night before socialising.
"It is believed that drugs had been taken and alcohol had been consumed.”
Following a post mortem, pathologist Dr Patrick Waugh recorded ‘combined drug toxicity’ as the cause of Mr McKenna’s death. Coroner Peter Sigee adjourned the hearing until December 12.
