- Joshua was diagnosed with an atrial flutter, an abnormal heart rhythm, and underwent surgery, spending six days in hospital.
- Lloyd, a physiotherapist, connected with Joshua via the running app Strava and visited him in hospital, providing support.
- After a period of recovery and medical clearance, Joshua successfully completed the Bath Half Marathon in March 2026, raising money for the British Heart Foundation.
