ITV's Malpractice has hit our screens this week and has been an instant hit.
The medical drama follows a doctor who is under investigation after an opioid overdose patient dies after being admitted to A&E.
Throughout the five episodes, Dr Lucinda Edwards', who is played by Niamh Algar, life spirals out of control as the pressure of the investigation gets to her.
Writer Grace Ofori-Attah, who was a doctor for 15 years, says the series challenges stereotypes of addiction as well as highlights the pressures medical professionals endure.
Grace said: "While Malpractice is set in A&E to reflect what was probably the most difficult junior doctor rotation I’ve ever done, the underlying story is really one about psychiatry, mental health, addiction and how that is pervasive. Not just in medicine but in wider society."
