Mallikarjun Kharge’s humour even changes inclement weather, wishes V-P Jagdeep Dhankhar on Congress president’s birthday

NEW DELHI: The Rajya Sabha may be witnessing unruly scenes for the last two days of the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament over Manipur violence, but some pleasant moments also take place in the Upper House. Vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday heaped praises on leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on the latter’s birthday.

Soon after the Rajya Sabha assembled for the day, Dhankhar, who is also the ex-officio chairperson of the Council of State, said, “Honourable members, I take the opportunity to wish birthday greetings to the honourable leader of opposition Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, member of this august House since June 2020. Shri Kharge had been Union cabinet minister, member of Lok Sabha (two terms), minister in the government of Karnataka and has been member of Karnataka legislative assembly for nine terms, from 1972-2009.”
