Malky Mackay raises second Celtic penalty grievance as he hammers VAR with 'what on earth are we doing' jibe

Malky Mackay has been left flabbergasted at the penalty given to Celtic in Ross County's 2-0 defeat in Dingwall.

The game looked to be going into the break at a stalemate after a sturdy first half for the Staggies, but Cameron Carter-Vickers then appeared to head the ball onto the arm of Alex Iacovitti. Willie Collum went to VAR and his check awared Jota the chance to score from 12 yards, in which he obliged with the opportunity.

Alexandro Bernabei then netted in stoppage time as County stay 11th, but Mackay was left fuming with the penalty call, and reckons Collum's whistle should have blown before that. He said: "I was really surprised at the penalty. I have seen it half a dozen time and still think what on earth are we doing if that is going to be a penalty. You can't jump in the box with your arms at your side, the arms behind him and the two of them go with the head and both miss it.

"It hits Alex on the back of his arm and it's ball to arm, it isn't going anywhere. I find it remarkable that VAR is intervening and the bar is set. I look at England and where the bar is set and it is high, I don't see that right now. We are paying for this, all 12 clubs are paying for this.

"We expect the standard...I don't want to say any more as I don't want to get in trouble. But when I look at that, just on half-time, I am not sure as far as the fourth official is concerned we were actually over the allotted extra time."
